The violinist Anders Frostin grew up in south Sweden region “Skåne”. He has many strings on his instrument: playing with jazz groups, swedish ‘polske-playing’, baroque violin and tango orchestra. He has toured in over 25 countries in Europe, Middle East and USA.
Frostin has made CD recordings as a soloist or as a side-man on CD labels Heptown Records (Sweden), Warner Bros., BIS, EMI and Classical Communications (UK).
Anders Frostin was born in Lund, Sweden, in 1975 and started playing the violin at the age of 7. At first mostly folk music, soon also classical and later on also jazz. When 18 years old he was appointed to the Performance Programme at the Malmö Music Academy. There he was a student of Jennifer Wolf and Wieslawa Szymczynska. 1997-98 he received a NordPlus scholarship to study in Oslo with the famous violin professor Terje Moe Hansen.
Anders Frostin has participated in several master classes in Holland, Norway and Sweden. His teachers include Leon Spierer, former Berlin Philharmonics concert master, Federico Agostini (violin soloist on record label Philips) and the leading baroque violinist John Holloway.
Frostin recieved several scholarships and prices, among others from The Royal Swedish Music Academy and The Crafoord Foundation.
He was a soloist with orchestra with Vivaldi “Four Seasons”, Haydn G major Concerto and Kabalevskij Concerto. As a soloist in Bach Double Concerto for 2 Violins he performed in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
